Let's Get Sketchy - 15 April challenge

Hi there!

I am sooooo excited to present my first reveal as part of the Let's Get Sketchy design team! Let's Get Sketchy is a challenge site that uses a sketch as a base for their challenge. A different sketch is posted on the website along with design team take on these sketches on the 1st and the 15th of each month. Here is the sketch for the 15th of April:

Along with the sketch, there is a lovely moodboard to get those creative juices flowing ... Isn't this mood board just yummy, yummy?!
Such pretty colours, aren't they?
Along with the sketch, I drew my inspiration off parts of the mood board. The paint pots and the sketch tie in very well with the circular shapes of the sketch. I used the shades mint green and yellows as my choice of colours. - and added to the layout the flowers. Here is my take on the sketch and the mood board :)

I used a stencil and texture paste to the background. Inked the circular chipboards with the mint green ink and then completed the balance of the circles with these lovely big flowers.  I have also splattered some ink on the background.

Would love to see your creations off the sketch and the mood board on the Let's Get Sketchy Blog!

See you soon for the next layout for the 1st of May with it's sketch!

White ... with 1 April Challenge

Oh my goodness - it's April already! Where has the time gone ... they say that time goes fast when you are having fun, right? Well let's have some fun with the lovely colour for the month of April over at White ... with 1 .... helium blue.
This month White ... with 1 have also added a sketch too, but this is entirely optional.

Here is my take on the colour and sketch for the month

The background is shaded in blue chalk and then stamped with ink to create the "splats".  and then some ink drops. I have also used some strips of washi tape. And of course both my favourite elements - chippies and flowers to complete the layout :)

Pop on over to the  White ... with 1 blog and have a look at the lovely layouts created by the others on the creative team - they are stunning!

Looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with this month!

Raincliff Weekend Away

Another very awesome weekend away at Raincliff, hosted by Embellish It. A very special one as Embellish It celebrated their 5th birthday - and we had a wonderful weekend away of scrapbooking, food, laughter, and total relaxation! Thank you Joanne for another wonderful scrap camp.

I managed to get a few layouts done this weekend, and here are just 4 of the ones I created. (Some I cannot reveal just yet!)

This one was part of a challenge for the weekend: Using a recipe that included chipboard, 6 or more flowers, stenciling, perfect pearls and at least 3 different papers - here is my take:

This one was just one that I put together as part of my projects for the weekend - with the lovely Maja Design Sofiero range:
Another challenge for the weekend. We had to use something out of our goodie bags - we received a stencil, a bag of flowers and a 6x6 paper pad - and this is what I came up with:
And another project using Lemoncraft papers:

Thanks for stopping by :)

Here is my take for March

I have used orange chalk under the photo mat and embellishments. The chipboard has been painted in orange - and the stitches are hand drawn along the edges.

Hello everyone ...

Hope you are all having a good Waitangi day!

For Artfull Crafts Design Team - I have been playing with this Kaisercraft UBud Dreams range this week - in my element as the blue/teal is one of my favourite colours. Here is a layout I created using these beautiful papers:

Using a card stock as my base I have cut down the reverse side of the  Mandala paper and distressed the edges. I have then used a stencil and texture paste to create the mask. Once this was dry, I then used two different inks - a green one and a blue one to spray over the page, and created some splats with both colours. I cut out a frame from the Sekar paper and also cut out the mandala from the Bayu paper - these are placed behind the photo. The paper in the tears is the Citra paper. The stamp is from an older range of Kaisercraft but the clear stamps available with this range will work just as well. I have then used some of the stickers off the sticker sheet and some of the collectables.

Thanks for visiting - have a great week!

White ... with 1 - February Challenge

Can you believe it is February already? And the colour for White ... with 1 this February is Blue Jeans
Pop over to the White ... with 1 blog and look at all the lovely pages created by the team .... just gorgeous. So looking forward to seeing what everyone creates this month with this lovely colour. And how about a little more persuasion ...

Below i s my layout for the month of February with the lovely Denim Jeans (and the sketch below used as a base)

I have so few photos of my son - he just does not like having his photo taken and I really need to catch him unawares ... this is one of my favourite photos of him.
Most of the elements on this page are chipboard. These have been gesso'd and then painted with a blue paint. I used a stencil and texture paste on the white cardstock  and then lightly dusted chalk over this, and then stamped on top of this, And adhered the photos and the chippies.

Pop on over to the White ... with 1 blog and play along ... and how about a sketch to to encourage you to join ... (the sketch is of course optional)
