White ... with 1 December 2018

Omg - what has happened to this year .... its gone!
The 1st of December (it is actually our wedding Anniversary today - all of 28 years of being married!)

And what a great way to see the new month in with White ... with 1's gorgeous colour for the month VIVID GOLD - ties in with all the celebrations!

And for a little more inspiration, a lovely sketch (optional to anyone wishing to taking part in the challenge)
I have used the sketch and here is my take on the challenge and the colour for this month:

I started with a dusty attic chippie called drift net, and inked this in gold. I then cut this in half so that I could place one on top of the other to form my frame for the photos. The background has been sprayed with gold ink.  The title "A Beautiful Day" is also a chipboard piece I have had in my stash for sometime, and this was also inked in gold.

The xxxxx stitching and the butterfly is Bo Bunny foil rub-on. The gold ink is really difficult to photo - even the stamping here is a light gold ink - wand it is showing up grey!
Next I sprayed some white leaves with gold ink

I then finished off white white flowers and some more foil rub-ons.

Wishing you all a wonderful festive season and may you all have a prosperous and blessed new year

2019 is going to be a busy year - lots happening, so watch this space .....

Till then,

White with 1 - November Challenge

Welcome to November , and scary to think that in two months time - we are into 2019! Of course, new month means new colour over at White ... with 1. This month is the lovely ORANGE BLAZE.

Such a great vibrant colour! And what about this inspiring mood board to get you going?

And here is my take on the colour for this month:

I started with tearing a strip out of the white cardstock, and then placing a piece of patterned paper underneath. I stamped with a wood grained pattern stamp in the orange plus orange splatter as the background, and a little of stamping with a dark grey stamp.

I then cut strips of patterned paper to add in the background. The chipbaord frame and leaves are all Dusty Attic and were painted with Finnabair Metallique Gold Amber paint.  I then raised the photo and frame before placing the leaves under.
I then sprayed cream flowers from 49 and Market with orange ink, which I used to finish off the layout

I hope that I have inspired you to play along, and look forward to seeing your layout up on the blog.

Have a great week!

Sketchabilities #154 October/November reveal

Hello there

15th of the month and that means its Sketchabilities reveal day - sketch no #154:
I have used the gorgeous Mintay 7th Heaven range to create my layout - just love the range of pinks and blues:
I have used the the paper marked as no 4 from the range as my background. I then proceeded to fussy cut out the flowers from the bonus sheet, as well as from the no 1 sheet.
These fussy cut pieces were all layered in the corners. I also added some Dusty Attic chipboard foliage which I coloured using Creative Expressions Gilding polish in silver. The tags are cut from the paper no 7.
I have also added some white lace on top of and below the photo.
The title is also a Dusty Attic chippie. Lastly I lightly brushed on some pink acrylic painted around the outline of the design to accentuate the papers and the photo design. Pop on over to the Sketchabilities blog and check out all the details on how to play along.

Hope to see your take on the sketch up on the Sketchabilities blog!

Thanks for visiting!

White .. with 1 October 2018 reveal

Hello all!

And just like that ... it's October .... somewhere I think I missed a few months, gosh this year is just flying by. And of course a new month, means a brand new colour over at White ... with 1 :) - ELEPHANT GREY
This month Stick It Down is the sponsor and have asked that we, the Design Team, use their sketch:
And here is my take on the sketch:

I started with using texture paste and a script stencil, and stencilling in the cross shape. I then dabbed grey in over this using a rough sponge. Using white sewing cotton, I scrunched it up and stuck it down randomly over the grey ink. I used a die to cut the "bricks" under each of the photos. The arrows on the top and bottom of the photo are a 2 Crafty chippie, the arrows to the left of the photo are wooden pieces, as are the "dots, stars and imagine". All of these are coloured using Metallic Gilding Polish Graphite from Creative Expressions.

Once these were all stuck in place, I then used some artstones and dabbed these randomly on the page among the chipboard and diecuts. I then mixed some water and the same grey ink that I used to do the background and dotted these over all the artstone. The ink then also ran into the white cotton, turning some of it grey and some left white.
I then dribbled some extra paint to let it run down as in the picture and the added some prills.
The photo is of a friend I knows grandson (she is such a lovely lady, so privileged to know her) .... who is practising his routine for a dance show. Isn't it a great photo? I thought it went so well with the back ground. I gacve her the layout when it was finished.

Come play along with us at White .. with 1. The team have also some great interpretations of the sketch to inspire you. Hope to see your insiration on the White ... with 1 blog.

Thanks for visiting :)

Sketchabilities #153 - September

Hello!

Welcome to the new month at Sketchabilities - Sketch #153 for September.  Another fabulous sketch:

It's a wonderful sketch - and I really enjoyed putting my page together:
The base of the layout is 49 and Market Captured Adventures Explorer paper. I prepared the page by covering it with clear gesso. Once dried, I used a script stencil to add some texture to the page. I then added some ink and stamped over this with brown ink. Instead of the 2 photos on the either side of the larger photo I cover two chipboard frames with the striped paper off the back of the laser cuts bonus of the Captured Adventures range.

The title is a Dusty Attic chipboard, plus there are some cogs - all of these were painted with Bo Bunny Glitter paste - Wasabi. And then dusted over with brown ink.
The flower cluster was done with the 49 and Market Vintage Shades Cluster - Sage, and the leaves are from the laser cut sheet off the 49 and Market Sweet Reflections.

Here are a few more close ups

White with 1 .... Sept 2018 reveal

Happy Spring Day!

1st of September and the sun is shining - just right for Spring Day here in NZ! And it is reveal day over at White ... with 1 and one of my favourite colours .... TEAL SEA

Gorgeous isn't it?

And I just love the mood board :
And here is my take on the challenge for this month:

Here I have used mainly chipboard to make up this layout. It is a combination of chipboard from Dusty Attic, 2 Crafty Chipboard and Imagine If. Some of it I have cut up and placed in order to make the design.  These have been layered to give it a dimensional effect.

I started off with adding gesso to all the pieces before painting the chipboard pieces with Finnabair acrylic paint Metallique Mermaid Teal. The frame is a wooden frame which I have had in my stash for a few years, which was also gesso'd and then painted with white acrylic paint and lightly brushed over with an ink pad and then sanded to give it that wooden effect.

I have also die cut some leaves from teal paper, added some flowers from 49 and Market and some white cotton to finish this off.

Pop over to the White ... with 1 blog to check on detail on how to play along.

Happy scrapping!

Sketchabilities #152 - August

I have just had a fantastic weekend away with my scrapbooking friends organised by Embellish It here in New Zealand, at a scrap camp from all day Friday morning through to Sunday lunchtime. Just love weekends like that where you get to scrapbook all weekend and spend quality time with special friends too.

Over to Sketchabilities August reveal and it is sketch no 152. I thoroughly enjoyed making use of this sketch this month!

My take on the sketch - using the lovely Mintay Marina papers and 49 and Market flowers
.
Here I have used the gorgeous no 2 Marina page - I just love this weathered wood on this paper. I have used a brick wall stencil for the back ground and texture paste. Splattered some blue ink over this and then rubbed a little chalk colour over that. I have also done some random stamping before placing my papers and flowers.

I have cut out several sizes of different papers as matting behind the photo and used a corner punch on these, tucking bits of muslin under the matting,
The layout is finished off with these gorgeous 49 and Market flowers. I have also fussy cut some of the shells out and added these among the flowers clusters. The anchor was also fussy cut.

Pop on over to the Sketchabilities blog for details on how to play along - and check out the gorgeous inspiration from the rest of the team!

1 August 2018 - White ... with 1 Reveal

And just like that July is done ... welcome to a new month. A new month means a new challenge at White .. with 1. ... and it is the beautiful SUNNY YELLOW

Such a bright and vibrant colour.. We have a great sketch, which is entirely optional to you those who choose to do the challenge

Here is my take on the colour with the sketch
I decided to transpose the sketch and this was the result! I just loved how it turned out. I started off with gesso'ing the white cardstock. Then I used a stencil with texture paste. Once dry, I sprayed over the textured back ground with yellow ink and a little water to get it spread.

If you have a look at the above picture you can see the yellowed textured background. I used some of the collectables and paper from the Kaisercraft range "Shine Bright", and the "tape measure" is from  the Kaisercraft "documented" range. The photo is mounted on foam tape to add dimension.
The chipboard numbers are gesso'd. Once dried, I dabbed yellow ink lightly on these and then stamped over these with a script stamp in black ink. These are tucked in under the photo. The "love" title is added also with foam tape so that it lifts at the same height as the photo. The chipboard and flowers are from 49 and Market. Add some cheesecloth between the flowers. The same applies for the cluster at the top.

To finish off, I used a wet wipe and some yellow ink and dabbed around the photo. I then splattered undiluted yellow ink and added some yellow sequins.

I hope that this has inspired you to pop over to the White ... with 1 challenge blog and enter your page. There is some great pages that the design team have put together too.

Thanks for visiting!

Sketchabilities #151 - July 2018 reveal

Helloooo .... from a very cold and rainy NZ!

I so enjoyed all the lovely layouts from everyone who joined Sketchabilities with their comeback reveal #150 - I love how one sketch can produce such varieties and beautiful interpretations - amazing!
SO of course , it's the 15th of July - which means its Sketchabilities July reveal day - and it's sketch #151:

And here is my take on the sketch, using the gorgeous Chesterville paper

Here I  have lightly brushed the paper with gesso and then stamped the paper with black ink and a script stamp. I then splattered some brownish/reddish ink on the page. Once dry, I gesso'd over this lightly again, and once all dry, I sandpapered over the page and then stamped on the black inch blots. I also inked the edge of the paper with a brown ink. The layout is finished off with a layering of paper, tags and the chipboard cogs and 49 and Market flowers.

Looking a little closer, shows the stamping in the background and the inking. The cogs have been panted in black and then dabbed with copper, bronze and gold paint to give it that rusty look. The matting for the photo is an old Bo Bunny collection that I cut out and distressed.  I stamped a film strip image and then stuck a washi tape film strip piece over this. The flowers have also been brushed with a little brown ink to give them a more rustic appearance.

Looking forward to seeing everyone's take on this sketch for July .....

I will be back soon ....

Have a great week everyone!
